Care Guide
Product Care Guide — Asttars
To ensure your Asttars footwear and apparel maintain their premium look, shape, and comfort for years to come, we recommend following these standard care instructions.
👞 Footwear Care (Chelsea Boots, Loafers & Sneakers)
Smooth Leather (Boots & Loafers)
-
Cleaning: Wipe away dirt and dust with a soft, dry cloth after each use. For tougher stains, use a slightly damp cloth and let them air dry naturally.
-
Conditioning: Apply a high-quality leather conditioner every few months to keep the leather soft and prevent cracking.
-
Polishing: Use a matching or neutral shoe cream/polish to restore color and shine.
Suede & Nubuck (Boots & Loafers)
-
Cleaning: Never use water. Use a dedicated suede brush to gently brush away dry dirt and restore the nap (texture) of the leather. Brush in one direction.
-
Protection: Treat your suede footwear with a specialized water and stain repellent spray before your first wear, and reapply periodically.
Sneakers
-
Cleaning: Spot clean using a soft-bristle brush (or an old toothbrush), warm water, and a mild cleaning solution. Gently scrub the uppers and the soles.
-
Drying: Always air dry your sneakers at room temperature. Never put them in a washing machine or dryer, as the heat and submersion can destroy the adhesives and shape.
General Footwear Tips
-
Resting: Avoid wearing the same pair of shoes two days in a row. Letting them rest allows trapped moisture (sweat) to evaporate, extending the life of the materials.
-
Storage: Store your shoes in their original box or a breathable dust bag. Use wooden shoe trees to help them maintain their shape and absorb internal moisture. Keep them away from direct, harsh sunlight.
👕 Apparel Care (Shirts)
-
Washing: Machine wash cold (30°C or below) on a gentle cycle with similar colors. Washing in cold water preserves the fabric's integrity and prevents shrinking.
-
Detergent: Use a mild liquid detergent. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals that can break down the fibers and fade the colors.
-
Drying: Line dry in the shade whenever possible. If you must use a dryer, tumble dry on the lowest heat setting and remove promptly to minimize wrinkling.
-
Ironing: Iron on a medium setting while the shirt is slightly damp, or use a garment steamer.
👖 Denim Care (Jeans)
-
Wash Less Often: Denim is a durable fabric that doesn't need to be washed after every wear. Spot clean minor stains with a damp cloth to preserve the color and fit.
-
Washing: When it's time to wash, always turn your jeans inside out. Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle with like colors to minimize indigo dye bleeding and fading.
-
Drying: Never put your jeans in the dryer. The heat will shrink the denim and ruin the elastane (stretch) fibers. Hang them out to air dry naturally, out of direct sunlight.
-
Storage: Fold your jeans or hang them by the belt loops to maintain their shape.
